Bays complained, and her account was eventually restored, but the incident helped launch a pro-breastfeeding selfie — or brelfie — movement.

Also permitted: Women sharing post-mastectomy scars.

#Cancer sucks yo!!! Rebecca was diagnosed with Stage 1 cancer in 2013 and had to have a #mastectomy as a result. It was a humbling experience to photograph her in the most intimate of ways. She told me that even though #BreastCancer stole her breast, it did not steal her femininity or her strength. Her story and stories of many others are currently being told at the Michael Joseph Centre through a #photoexhibition by @farajacancersupport in conjunction with some brilliantly awesome photographers @ggkenya @kevinouma @mwarv @paulobuna, Aditya Shah and myself. The exhibition runs til the 19th of April so please do pass by 💕 #farajastories #cancerawareness #cancerstories #CancerSoldiers #cancersucks #bnw #bw #portraiture #Portraits #potd

And “Nudity in photos of paintings and sculptures is OK, too.”

Still not allowed: “sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully nude buttocks.”

The new guidelines state that some “photos of female nipples” will not be allowed, too.

The new guidelines also have a clause meant to protect photos of children against unauthorized use.

“For safety reasons, there are times when we may remove images that show nude or partially-nude children. Even when this content is shared with good intentions, it could be used by others in unanticipated ways.”
